As well as structurally engineered wood, which is real wood adapted to fit the needs of the customer, we also supply and install engineered wood flooring. This differs to the adapted real wood as it is essentially man-made. More often than not, plywood is the product created.
Manufactured from multiple layers of wood that are bonded together in a cross-ply construction, engineered wood is very stable and offers a greater structural strength than natural wood building materials. This means that it has a low sensitivity to general wear and tear and foot traffic, thus ensuring that it keeps its authentic and rustic appearance.
The main advantage of engineered wood flooring however, is that unlike solid wood floors that shrink and expand when the room temperature changes, it isn’t prone to the same problems and remains stable. This makes it very suitable for houses and rooms where underfloor heating is installed.
Our engineered boards are generally 14-15mm thick with approximately 4mm of top layer real wood. With a width of between 148 and 189mm and lengths ranging from 400 to 1860mm, our engineered boards can cater for any requirement. They come with a beveled edge and can be presented in lacquered, oiled or brushed and oiled finishes. We also provide 3 strip engineered boards, which come with a square edge and lacquered finish only.
